Jeylan is a criminal defense lawyer at Shore & Johnston, Barristers-at-Law, in Ottawa, Ontario. Jeylan’s practice is focused exclusively on the defence of criminal and quasi-criminal charges. She has successfully represented clients at the Ontario Court of Justice, Superior Court, and Court of Appeal in proceedings from bail, pre-liminary hearings, and pre-trial motions through to trial, sentencing hearings, and appeals. In addition to Courtroom advocacy, Jeylan has successfully and fiercely negotiated exceptional resolution positions for her clients, when the cards seemed stacked against them.

Jeylan graduated with high distinction from the University of Guelph, double majoring in Sociology and Anthropology, before completing her Juris Doctor degree, at the University of Ottawa. Jeylan completed her articles of clerkship under Michael Johnston and was called to the Bar of Ontario in March 2023.

Jeylan is fluent in both English and Turkish and accepts Legal Aid Ontario Certificates.
